Churchyards

Sir/Madam, I help to maintain our Churchyard, which mainly involves cutting and strimming a grassed area of about an acre. I would like to see a policy agreed whereby we keep a large area of grass uncut in order to encourage wild flowers to naturalise. We have already left an area uncut for one year, but I wonder if at some stage some cutting will be needed at a certain height. Can you please advise on what care/maintenance will be needed to develop this conservation area? Is there a particular reference on wildlife conservation in Churchyards? Grateful for any advice,

David A. Seaton 20,Rectory Close, Carlton, Bedford. MK43

Online jobs

Hi there. I'm an Environmental Science graduate with two years editorial/publishing experience. I'd love to combine the two and work for an online publication like Conserv@tion, either freelance or full-time. Any opportunities?
